Self Portrait
Self Portrait is a photo essay on identity, and not really knowing what makes up who you are.
It was done by sorting through the film photos I’ve taken over the years, compiling ones (and their negatives) that I felt represent elements of me, and arranging them in a way that I felt told a story. I stamped the negatives with my fingerprints and inscribed them with text from my journal before scanning each frame, yielding these images.
The result is a vulnerable meditation on the self. All the visuals were created physically (analog photography, physical manipulation of the negatives) save for the scanning itself.
